I got intrigued when a friend told me that she is using a neoprene bag for her camera. I tried to find out the difference between my Lowepro Nova Micro AW and the neoprene camera bag. Upon seeing the looks of neoprene, I had a big grin thinking this would be the new apple of my eye for a lighter version of my mini bag. I could easily stuff it on my backpack or tote bag outdoor.

Neoprene Camera Bag

Other finds: “THE BENEFITS OF NEOPRENE

STRETCH: Neoprene is elastic and form-fitting; it conforms to equipment of varying sizes and shapes.

CUSHIONING: Neoprene has just the right thickness and density to absorb the shock of everyday handling and “bumping around.” A high level of protection, both inside the camera bag and out.

LOW FRICTION: Zing neoprene is laminated between layers of smooth nylon knit. Unlike plain foam or rubber, it has extremely low surface friction. This makes it easy to slide and stretch over equipment, quick to remove, and scratch-resistant.

WEATHER-RESISTANCE: Neoprene sheds water like a duck, making it an ideal outdoor material. Zing cases provide great protection against rain, snow, sand and dust.”

During the wedding rehearsal, the groom approached the minister with an unusual offer. I’ll give you $100 if you’ll change the wedding vows. When you get to me and the part where I’m to promise to ‘love, honor and obey and forsake all others,” I want you to just leave that part out.”

He passed the puzzled minister the cash and walked away satisfied.

On the wedding day, when the minister came to the groom’s vows, he looked the young man in the eye and said, “Will you promise to prostrate yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed every morning of your life and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that you will not ever even look at another woman, as long as you both shall live?”

The groom gulped, looked around at the guests, and managed to answer, “I shall.” Then he leaned toward the minister and hissed, “I thought we had a deal!”

The minister slipped the $100 into his hand and whispered back, “She made me a much better offer.”

*
I tell you, my hands were shaking when I took this photo. My charm didn’t work well that day. Please bear with the artwork of an amateur paparazzi. =)

If I could spot another wedding, there’s a bigger chance that this photo will disappear.

Sign up and once you’re done, then you are ready to do simple editing techniques without the purchasing the packaged software for advance revisions. What you can expect when you sign up are the tools which are more likely similar in photobucket. Please don’t get me wrong. Not all of my photos here are enhanced. Most of the time I use Photoshop to create the watermark image for copyright purposes.

To continue, Photoshop Express allows you to do the 1.) basics (like cropping, rotate, red-eye removal), 2.) tuning (i.e. adjust white balance and sharpness), 3.) apply effects (such as turning photos into black & white or pop color).

Adobe Photoshop Express is a free site where members can upload images and edit them. Try using it now and tell me what can you say about it.

I am currently experimenting scrapbook softwares that would fit my preference of designs and user friendly menus for a dummy like me. This one was made out of Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 3.0. It got several templates to choose from not only for scrapbooks but also for cards, cd labels, shirt designs and more. Scrap wise, this software is not my type due to its limited embellishments. I really thought it has huge variety of designs as it eats up 2 GB of my disk space upon installation. Well, overall I’ll rate it for 3 stars.

I was browsing over Photo editing softwares and was intrigued to try this Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for photo collection library. To complete, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is defined as- ” a photography software program developed by Adobe Systems for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, designed to assist professional photographers in managing thousands of digital images and doing post production work. It is not a file browser like Adobe Bridge, but rather an image management application database which helps in viewing, editing and managing digital photos (including those on backup DVDs).”–Wikipedia

Showing you the output on basic editing under the Saved Presets. I tried resizing the photo first in Photoshop and saved under flower.jpg filename. The next step was to open Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and import the flower file. Then I started experimenting on the very first button that caught my attention. I clicked the arrows pointing to one of the presets under creative category. After seeing the transformation I exported it back to Adobe Photoshop and saved the file as flower1.jpg. The same pattern applies to the rest.

The order of photos are modified as follows (left to right):
1. original photo
2. Creative- Cold Tone
3. Creative- Selenium Tone
4. Creative- Sepia
5. General- Grayscale

An open source technology developed by Shai Avidan and Ariel Shamir for GIMP plugin under the Liquid Rescale Library is one of the great discovery that I am eager to try soon. Only then I have to asked hubby to install the Linux OS again after it got deleted during the installation of Windows OS lately. Oh sorry, I totally forgot GIMP also works for Windows. Might as well try installing it on Windows platform instead, right? But hmmm, I guess I still feel comfortable using GIMP on Linux since it’s already built in.

Going back to the topic, stretching or rescaling of photos without distorting the main subject is amazingly done through Seam Carving. It’s advisable you watch the video below of how Seam Carving works. It clearly demonstrates the algorithm of the plugin.

I happen to pass by a studio and ask a lady how much is the cost for developing 5 x 7 photos and I noticed the photo editors who were seated right in front of me who were in line with customers beside them. They were trying to erase the glitches on the ID and passport size pictures. I was amazed on how it works like magic.

In the online photo club that I joined we normally have self-portrait assignments to submit every now and then. Sometimes I get too particular with the details that I wish I had this Portraiture Photoshop plugin that smoothens and removes imperfections. It has a powerful masking tool that enhances the skin tone and still preserves other important details. I find out that it’s too expensive for non-serious photographers like me but a practical investment for professionals which aims to have a photo studio.

My choice of camera depends upon my ambition as an amateur photographer and my budget. Although advanced cameras are more diverse than the basic models, they often have wide variety of functions that learning to use them have been a daunting task for me.

First, I tried using compact cameras many years ago. It was fully automatic using film and disposable batteries.

My second camera was a Fuji Finepix SLR. It was good enough to allow me to drive some creative automatic control over composition and framing. What’s good with it is that it allows me to take photo and video clips together in one single device. Only then it has a lower resolution of 72 pixel per inch when transported to Photoshop software. The quality of photo was not as vivid compared to other brands of SLRs.

For now I am greatly satisfied with using Nikon D40X DSLR camera. It allows me to use manual and automatic focus. Many similar models include such useful extras like buit-in flash, changeable lens, external flash, tripod, instant viewing of photographs on monitor or TV and many other fantastic features. When transported to Photoshop it displays a clearer resolution of 300 pixel per inch on the monitor. I could also choose to save my photos on RAW file for more better photo editing. I’m loving how this gadget serves me well.

This restaurant is quite ancient, it’s one of the last place that remains from the time when Montmartre was a homeland for artists, especially for painters. This restaurant was previously a Cabaret and a lot of artists used to go there. It is still a very nice place to have a diner if you come to Paris.

It’s pretty common for professional photographers nowadays to advertise their photos on the net with a corresponding prices attached to it. In case viewers wants to download its original size, all you have to do is click the shopping cart button and the transaction will automatically begin with few questions to be answered in processing the payments. With this, the owner of the photos can be sure that his/her effort is never wasted.

Magazines and other print media sometimes rely on photo sites to find their fillers and to save other miscellaneous expenses. The shopping cart software can be one solution in generating photo commerce to a photography site. All one has to do is integrate it on the website to make it available for e-commerce.

Now you may ask, is it possible to build e-commerce on a blog? Well, after making some research on the net, I found out it is possible. Probably with the use of plug-ins. It could either be done on WordPress, Drupal or in XOOPS platform.
