It would have been a crazy day for me juggling both yearly events at the same time. The well awaited food fair and A. Carey’s birthday came together last Saturday. Good thing hubby was away while I was preoccupied decorating the Filipino booth for the fair. Finally another birthday celebration came upon Monday with an exciting attempt to bake my very first Blueberry Cheesecake. Thanks to Mae who patiently tutored me how to turn this dream into reality. For lunch we were blessed to have tinolang manok and fried chicken fillets to share with.

As part of the family tradition, near and far, we celebrated it in our own little way. As usual I prepared instant meals and here’s how I made it.

Easy to Cook -Tuna Carbonara in Tricolored Pasta

From Food

First boil the pasta until it becomes aldente. Drain and set aside. Next put some butter or olive oil depending on your choice on a pan. Place two tablespoons of Pesto alla Sicilliana and add the tuna, then saute for two minutes. Add Prego mushroom carbonara sauce, evaporated milk and a little water to dilute the thick mixture. I normally like to make my sauce creamy as much as possible. Serve with Parmesan cheese. Yum!

For the dessert or appetizer, I made this instant treat with only one piece for each ingredient. I grated the carrot and apple then combined in a bowl. To add a distinct taste, I squeezed in some lemon on it. Now it’s time to attack!

I’m thankful to have found a sister in you. Know that you’re always remembered and will always be cherished by the people who loves you.

Keeping things simple as much as possible saves time and effort. This philosophy is much likely applicable to my day to day life. You can tell, I’m an advocate of instant meals. Like the usual chow time that I have. I normally eat oatmeal mixed with fresh fruits on intervals in the morning, rice with two viands for lunch from the nearest cafeteria and salad combos at night.


Now, in what way or how do I spend my time….


For this I’m starting to realize that instead of spending much time checking on with others on my social network, I must go back to my list of dreams and see whether I have placed my tick marks on it or not. Tomorrow I’ll learn how to play my guitar again. Practice makes perfect, no matter how difficult it is to start all over again, let it not hinder me from doing the things I long for. Wish me patience!

Am experiencing LSS right now, so please bare with me. Well there’s got to be a reason for this, don’t you think?

I had an incredible day in Cebu on my latest trip— dated Aug. 6 to be exact. Me and my good friends toured the city en route to bohol the following day. I yearned to see Magellan’s Cross and it happened. The second photo was the sideview of Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral where the political celebrities showed up during a much-publicized wedding took place. Thirdly, it’s The Heritage of Cebu Monument in Parian district.

It surely is a good feeling to visit Cebu. Till next episode.

August 1, 2009 came as a surprise to few people who knew I’ll be sitting at home to view the video chat while they celebrate our batch reunion. Without such grand plans, I flew hours before the event so as not to miss the action. And true enough more eyes popped wide open and took a closer look in disbelief of what they were seeing. They surely thought it was my ghost. LOL.

After 15 long years, all of the girls tried to reminisce the past and exchange updates of what has transpired along the years. I was so blessed that night. I know others would want to be there too but they chose to remain on their comfort zones. I’m glad I have made that sudden decision. This reminds me of the famous line- “There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen.”

Let’s make things happen!

It was late afternoon when we arrived at the pier under Saphan Thaksin skytrain station. Just in time to witness a cloudy sunset yet too precious not to be missed with its cool shades of pink and orangey blend. I always get excited every boat trip as it reminds me of my childhood days where I used to spend my summer vacations.

There were a bunch of us who made things happen. God was so good to bless us with clear skies even though the forecast shows Bangkok will experience rain showers that very night. It kicked off with a dinner cruise along Chao Phraya river then we retreated to a posh bar downtown with Filipino live band playing a series of dance, jazz, pop and blues.

It was fun! Foods, music, birthday celebrations in the company of old and new friends.

Enjoy this unpolished slideshow which I intend to give as a surprise to M and T. Just one tip though, wait till it finishes to buffer by pressing pause before you play the whole vid. It may not be a good experience to watch it in pieces.

Nostalgic. I tend to feel nostalgic every time I attend wedding celebrations. Early this month my friend Beng have exchanged her sweet and solemn vow with the man she loves. They are such a lovely couple.

Ceremony. It was my first time to witness an outdoor wedding so I was attentive of how they do things differently. The sequence are a bit similar only with a distinct approach.

I’m Yours. During the reception, what captivated my ears was the background of their short pre-nuptial video which eventually is Jason Mraz– I’m Yours! and the lovely jazz music sang by the emcee. T had a chance to sing when the mic was passed around.

Another short notice came to me yesterday.

Friend says, “tonight we’ll have dinner in A’s place.”
Me, “ok, I’ll bring dessert.” I added, “what’s the occasion? Housewarming?”
A says, “nope, welcoming Sodexo in the campus!”
